For surely I know
the plans I have for you,
says the LORD,
plans for your welfare
and not for harm,
to give you a
future with hope.
(Jeremiah 29:11)

The Disaster Plan of the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod

Report:
Being the Church in a Post-Katrina World

A grassroots report from the New Orleans-Baton Rouge area ELCA clergy written February, 2007 and presented to the Conference of Bishops of the ELCA March 3, 2007.

The report summarizes the disaster response of the ELCA as it has been experienced by the local clergy "on the ground." It also articulates the lessons learned in the disaster and offers recommendations for future disaster response.

Video:
Faith in the Midst of the Storm

A video produced by John McCullough Bade.  Through music and images, the video tells the story of loss and hope for the congregations of the ELCA in southern Louisiana and southeast Texas.

Book:
Voices of Faith in the Midst of the Storm
Voices of Faith

A collection of reflections, journals, and sermons from pastors and faith leaders serving South Louisiana congregations of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The voices articulate the loss and suffering experienced from the storm and its aftermath; yet resonating throughout is the sound of a resilient faith and hope for the future.
